Of Countless Smiles And Some Really Cool Dance Moves

About the last bit, we don’t know if it is ever possible. But we try. We try to create our own slice of heaven. This time, there were more bakers!

Last Saturday, we celebrated with kids over some burgers and conversations. We distributed school bags as well. And they danced! They danced like they had no poverty to fight with, as if they had no worry in the world and as if, given a chance, they could master a serious form of art.

Republic Day With Kids And Nature

We had a perfectly well spent Republic Day this year with a new bunch of kids. A day that started like an average, lazy winter foggy morning, moved forward to become something that was nothing short of a celebration.
This time we did something for a greener city. We planted a few trees. Not only that, we organized a drawing competition where children participated with great excitement.
We tried to draw a few sketches ourselves, completely un-uploadable of course. The kids were much better :)

Happy New Year

New Year is a time for celebration. This time, we celebrated it with sixty street kids. We do not know how much joy we could spread, but we do know that while eating together and giving them notebooks and pencil boxes, we kept ourselves busy doing something worthwhile.

And amidst all the poems the children recited and the stories they shared, we lived our childhood, all over again. It was beautiful, in ways that are small yet thoughtful, cliched yet heartwarming.

Be Yourself team tries to help children because they stand above the differences of caste and prejudices. They need education. They truly need a helping hand and yes, they are the future.

Let's Spread Some Warmth

We all know how cold it is out there and it does not look that bad, as most of us are snuggled under our quilts with a hot mug of coffee in our hands. However, winter is not the same for everyone.There are many who do not have enough means to fight this cold. Let us do something for these people. Be Yourself team requests you to donate blankets this winter. Start with one blanket. It would mean a lot. This winter, spread some warmth. P.S. We do know that an R is missing :) Don’t ask. Long story!

Cool Clicks

A photographer friend of mine spent an evening with these kids over an evening snack. They talked and she got to know that there were a few teachers who take some time out and teach them for an hour or two every evening, under a tree! She took some pictures of the children who were too happy to pose!

Sandwich On Streets

The initiative touched my heart. I did not know that there are groups of people who spend their weekends spreading joy on the streets. It was October 2 and all the volunteers woke up early, made as many sandwiches as they could and walked on the streets, distributing them to little street kids. Way to go guys!
